The entry-level 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro boasts a Marvell-controlled SanDisk SSD. They put the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display through its paces, revealing average random read/write speeds of 165/131 MB/s while the average sequential read/write speeds were 263/244 MB/s. So, with the familiars out of the way, OWC turned to what’s new: the solid state drives, and sending them through some speed tests.
